This post is put together by the faculty team at Aakansh Physics Academy, where we prepare students for JEE Main & Advanced .

JEE Main 2027 Online Form Release Date — Quick Answer

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be going to released an official notification yet. Based on the pattern NTA has followed for the last several years, here’s the expected timeline:

EventSession 1 (Expected)Session 2 (Expected)
Online Form Release DateLast week of October 2026Last week of January 2027
Registration Closing DateLast week of November 2026Third week of February 2027
Fee Payment Last DateSame day, till 11:50 PMSame day, till 11:50 PM
Correction WindowDecember 2026March 2027
City Intimation SlipJanuary 2027March 2027
Admit Card3–4 days before exam3–4 days before exam
Exam DatesLast week of January 2027First–second week of April 2027
ResultFebruary 2027April/May 2027

These are provisional dates projected from NTA’s own historical release pattern (see table below) — not an official announcement. We will update this article within 24 hours of the official NTA notice going live on jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The Actual Year Wise Release Pattern

Instead of just saying “expected in October,” look at when NTA has actually opened Session 1 registration in past years. This is the real evidence behind our prediction above:

Exam YearSession 1 Form Release Date (Actual)Gap from Exam Date
JEE Main 20241 November 2023~11 weeks before exam
JEE Main 202528 October 2024~11 weeks before exam
JEE Main 202627 October 2025~11 weeks before exam
JEE Main 2027Expected: last week of Oct 2026Projected on same pattern

What this tells you: NTA has consistently opened the Session 1 form in the last week of October, roughly 10–11 weeks before the January exam. Unless NTA changes its policy, JEE Main 2027 registration should follow the same window.

Step-by-Step- How to Fill the JEE Main 2027 Application Form

Once the link goes live on jeemain.nta.nic.in, here’s exactly how the process will work

  1. New Registration – Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in and click “New Registration.” Enter your name, date of birth, parents’ names, mobile number, and email ID exactly as per your Class 10 certificate
  2. Generate Login Credentials – You’ll receive an application number and set a password. Save both securely — you’ll need them for Session 2 as well.
  3. Fill the Application Form – Log in and complete personal details, academic details (Class 12 board, roll number if available), category, and preferred exam cities (choose up to 4).
  4. Upload Documents – Photograph, signature, and Class 10 marksheet as per the specified size and format (table below).
  5. Pay the Application Fee – Via net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI.
  6. Download & Print the Confirmation Page – This is your proof of successful submission. Keep both a digital and printed copy.

Important for Session 2: If you’ve already appeared in Session 1 (January), you do not need to fill the entire form again for Session 2 (April) — just log in with your existing application number and password, choose your exam city, and pay the fee.

Who Can Apply — Eligibility Snapshot

  • Passed Class 12 in 2025 or 2026, or appearing in 2027.
  • No minimum percentage required to appear for JEE Main — but 75% in Class 12 boards (or top 20 percentile) is required for admission into IITs/NITs/IIITs.
  • No upper age limit.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as compulsory subjects for B.Tech aspirants.
  • Maximum of 3 attempts total across two consecutive years, with up to 2 sessions per year.

Correction Window — Don’t Waste It

NTA typically opens a correction window a few weeks after registration closes (expected December 2026 for Session 1). You can edit most fields — but not everything (some personal identity fields may be locked). Use this window to fix:

  • Category or gender selection errors
  • Blurred photo/signature re-uploads
  • Exam city preference changes (subject to availability)

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Filling the Form

  • Name/DOB not matching Class 10 certificate exactly
  • Inactive mobile number or email ID (OTPs and city slip alerts go here)
  • Wrong category or PwD status selection
  • Blurry or wrongly-sized photo/signature uploads
  • Filling the form on the last day and losing time to server load
  • Not downloading/printing the confirmation page after submission
  • Forgetting to save the application number + password for Session 2

FAQs

When will the JEE Main 2027 online form be released?

NTA hasn’t issued an official notification yet. Based on the last three years’ pattern, the Session 1 form is expected in the last week of October 2026, with registration closing in late November 2026.

Where will the JEE Main 2027 form be released?

Only on the official NTA website — jeemain.nta.nic.in. Be cautious of third-party “direct link” pages before the official notice is out; NTA never charges through unofficial portals.

Is there a minimum board percentage to fill the JEE Main form?

No minimum percentage is needed to appear for JEE Main. A 75% aggregate (or top 20 percentile) in Class 12 boards is required only at the time of admission to IITs, NITs, and IIITs.

Can I edit my application after submitting it?

Yes, during the correction window (expected December 2026 for Session 1). Not all fields are editable, so double-check before final submission.

How many times can I attempt JEE Main?

Up to 3 consecutive years, with 2 sessions (attempts) available each year — a maximum of 6 attempts overall.

Do I need to fill a separate form for Session 2?

No. If you’ve already registered for Session 1, you log in with the same application number and password, then just select your exam city and pay the fee for Session 2.

Disclaimer: Dates and fee figures marked “expected” are projections based on NTA’s historical release pattern and are not official. Please verify final details on jeemain.nta.nic.in once NTA releases the official information bulletin.
